According to a local lore, Solomon was a Hungarian king. While riding in the area he was pursued by some enemies (Tartars or Turks in different variations of the legend). His horse was able to jump over the gorge, while his pursuers all fell into the valley.〔(Despre Braşov:Mituri, Legende )〕
